Suzanne Glémot is an artist and bookbinder living and working in Iowa City, IA. She earned her MFA from the University of Iowa Center for the Book in 2020, where she concentrated in bookbinding and letterpress printing. She makes bindings, prints, and boxes, and occasionally produces limited edition artist books and broadsides under the imprint Stoat and Heather Press.
Through her time at the University of Iowa, Suzanne is also trained in book conservation and library preservation. After grad school, she moved to Washington, DC, and worked as a conservation technician at the Library of Congress. She returned to Iowa City in 2022 to join the Conservation and Collections Care Department at the University of Iowa Libraries.
Suzanne currently serves as Treasurer for the North American Hand Papermakers. She’s been the recipient of an Iowa Arts Fellowship and a grant from the Caxton Club, among other awards. Her work is included in over a dozen special collections including the Library of Congress, Penn State, and Washington University in St. Louis, and she exhibits nationally in juried and group shows.
Originally from France, Suzanne holds an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa and a BA in Studio Art from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
